Visual Poetry

These videos use motion, effects, and music to bring photographs to life, offering a fresh, immersive perspective on the artwork.

The motion begins where the image stands still. Moves across the surface, dissolves, shifts of light and colour lead the eye along traces, edges, and fields of colour you would otherwise have to find yourself in front of the print.

This changes the time an image takes. What stands simultaneously in the print and is taken in at a glance is given a beginning and an end in the film - an order the still image does not prescribe.

The films neither replace the work nor advertise it. They are a second reading, nothing more. Each sits on the page of the work it belongs to, alongside its dimensions, material, and framing.
